She, I (also The 24th of October)

These two people are two shoes in different colors. Somehow, they sport similar designs. (Maybe because they come from the same Maker, and were meant to be paired in the future, albeit in fashion faux pas?) The feet that wear them walk together in different cadences, but if one falls behind, it always catches up — the other never leaves it behind. And when these feet find themselves back on the same track, the cadence goes awry again after some time. But as always, one waits for the other, the other catches up. It’s a cycle, a sequence of missteps and small reunions, all backdropped against a war of colors that, oddly enough, look good together from time to time.
She was born on 5:28, I was born on 8:52. She was born, I was born.
She, I.
Happy 21st birthday, dearest Ia. Guys, please do me a favor and greet her at the newly-opened Stellify.net. Thanks! (And it’s not my birthday today — I was born on May 10.)

Sentiments aside (which means skipping the first paragraph *evil laugh*), the wording’s perfect. Missteps and small reunions. Hay.
War of colors? It’s not red and green, is it? Because green is not on top of my list, you know that. :D
Thanks, pre. (Why do I feel so Yaoi-y when I say that. Eeg.)
S’ysh t’ni.

I’m glad you liked (loved?) it. Happy birthday, Ia-chan.

Interesting ‘numerology’ you’ve got there. Have you tried getting a connection between your cellular phone numbers? Kidding. :-)
Happy birthday to you both.
By Abaniko on 10.24.06 10:33 am
abaniko, thanks, but i was born on may 10. ;) it’s just the time of our births that are similar.

mushy…mushy…
but yeah. Numbers do tell something.
add them up, divide, multiply or subtract. matters is that you end up sharing the same joy, if not the same love, as you face the the sum, minuend, quotient, and the product.
nice…nice…
By bananas on 10.24.06 3:08 pm
light, you were there? why? did you also join the competition? ;) nah, di ako nakapunta, di maganda pakiramdam ko noon e. i’m one of the three persons (soon to be 4) in the go-ogle team, though paypalnowph is handled by jangelo, my friend and colleague.
bananas, hm, i never liked math in HS and college. funny thing is, our course was math-intensive, hehe.

[this was supposed to be a comment on the "dancing with each other" post, pero baka di mo matignan so dito nalang ako nag-comment]
oooh. me like pretty words. haha. oks lang ba gamitin ko ‘to in something? ewan ko pa kung ano specifically (I’ve been experimenting). may mga fiction writings ka pa ba, like the “run run run” piece dati sa Logscript?
pic nyo ba yun sa top ng post ng dancing with each other? Ia + heels = does not compute. hehehe.
yun pala yung story behind that pic. diabetically sweet. :D

garro, no prob, it’d be my honor. though keep me updated with your work if ever you use this or any other fic, hehe.
speaking of fics…most of my longer works aren’t here on this blog, ’cause they’re…unfinished (argh, katamaran). i don’t know if these pieces will interest you, but here are the ones i like best: deviations i, deviations ii, jupiter falls (not fic, actually), jupiter falls from other POVs. and finally, the “run run run” piece, the fall, hehe.
i have this surreal-bizarre-modern-fantasy story that i’ve been meaning to write for the past months already. that world was supposed to be the setting for my Fully Booked entry, but unfortunately i never got to write that one. maybe in the future when i do write the story/novel/saga/ek-ek… ;)
btw, i’ve been browsing through your LJ. looks like you’re on your way to…having your own comic book sold off the shelf? good luck!
p.s. your godhead rocks, hehe.
By Corsarius on 10.27.06 1:33 am
ty. :D by-product rin yung Godhead ng Gaiman entry ko. sobrang tagal pa siguro bago makakagawa ako ng sariling books, so talent fielding/network-network muna. hehe.
By garro on 10.27.06 8:53 pm
no prob! were you able to beat the deadline? i let it pass, unfortunately. well, ika nga nila, slowly but surely. though i can’t say the same applies to me. almost no movement, grrr.
By Corsarius on 10.27.06 10:09 pm
I met the deadline but the product was crap, and I mean CRAP. haha.
By garro on 10.28.06 4:07 pm

garro, why so? hurried work ba? your works that i’ve seen so far are far from crap!
claudzki, i’m thankful for that. :)
nostalgia manila, thanks. i’ve been to your blog a couple of times already, and i must say it’s a breath of fresh air into the blogosphere. link’s up. ;)

I only learned to draw decently fairly recently, like two weeks ago. hahaha. (disclaimer: I said decent, not great. hopefully I’m a few weeks away from that). kaya ngayon lang ako nag-lakas-loob magbuo ng network.

[...] It’s my turn to greet the one who’s greeted me through his blog over the years, for which I couldn’t return the favor as I had no blog of my own back then. (Not that I’d be able to come up with equally poetic words, anyway.) [...]

[...] It was also my birthday a few days ago but I didn’t feel too excited to even write about it. (He did.) Maybe because I’m not a guy and you don’t really find the number 21 that special. [...]

[...] But you are dust unlike I, dust of the earth. You — and you might not know this — you are dust of the stars. I know this because when we are together, you make our surroundings scintillate like a firefly does in a moonless night, and a ring of gentle fire that does not claim life but provides it slowly embraces our joined bodies. Happy 22nd birthday, Ia! More October 24 goodness at last year’s She, I. This prose poem was translated from the original in Tagalog. [...]
