dexter, the good ol' times :) though of course i was born only in the mid-80s, so i still missed out on quite a lot of goodies.

hey, if you're interested in pinoy comics, you might want to check out our site at Komiks.ph ;)

Mai, yes, I think I remember that.

Somethings might not seem to hold so much value for us until the time comes when we're about to be separated from them. Other people might say, "but it's just a petty little thing". you and i know that's crap -- memories aren't petty little things. :)

I've had a similar situation, this time with comic books. Not those DC and Marvel ones -- just the cheap, "Funny Komiks" you can buy by the streets. I have a whole Balikbayan box full of them -- they were a great source of joy for me back in grade school.

My dad wanted to throw them out (i.e. give them to the bote-and-bakal boys), but I refused, to the point of being quarrelsome. I'm one who's loathe to let go of memories. Fortunately, my dad surrendered. :)

Ei kimps, remember the time last year when there was a landslide in one of the Philippine provinces? My mother felt like giving away some of our things to the unfortunate victims of the flood.

There was this furry jacket I had... I think I showed the picture to Ia. It was a picture I was so fond of because I was only 2 years old, in Baguio, standing ON our old red Corolla with that fuzzy winter jacket.

When I was 10, I saw the jacket in one of the old boxes in our cabinet. My mother told me that I should keep it for my own child. How cute, I thought.

But that morning, around 10 years later, the news about the flood came, and my mother felt like giving away some clothes that we don't use anymore.

So she dug the fur jacket out, and told me happily, that we'll give it away. I didn't react, but I wanted to cry so badly. I don't know if she felt that.
